Baby Open Play: A Gentle Beginning

A Space for You, Too

In the early days of parenthood, the world can feel both full and surprisingly small.

There are long stretches of time spent caring, holding, soothing—beautiful moments, but often quiet and, at times, isolating. And in a city like New York, finding spaces that truly welcome babies—and the people caring for them—can feel rare.

At Chelsea Forest Play, we created baby open play with this in mind.

A Place That Understands This Season

There aren’t many spaces in the city designed specifically for babies. Even fewer that feel just as thoughtful for the grown-ups who bring them.

We wanted to change that.

Our space is intentionally calm, soft, and baby-safe—so you don’t have to be “on edge” the entire time. No constant redirecting. No worrying if your baby is in the way. Just an environment where both of you can settle in.

Here, you’re not just accommodated—you’re considered.

A Gentle Kind of Gathering

Baby open play is more than a play session. It’s a quiet kind of social space.

A place where you might exchange a few words with another parent.
Share a knowing smile.
Or simply exist alongside others who understand this stage of life.

There’s no pressure to socialize. But the opportunity is always there.

Over time, familiar faces return. Small connections grow. And what begins as a visit can slowly start to feel like community.

Room to Breathe

We believe caregivers need space, too.

Space to sit. To pause. To take a breath while your baby explores nearby.
Space to feel at ease, knowing everything around you has been designed with care.

In a city that moves quickly, this is a place to slow down—together.

Building Something Meaningful

Our hope is simple: to create a space where families feel welcomed, supported, and connected from the very beginning.

A place where babies can safely explore.
And where parents and caregivers can feel a sense of community.

You’re Always Welcome Here

Whether you come for a moment of calm, a change of scenery, or a chance to connect, we’re so glad you’ve found us.

This space was created with you in mind. 💚
